The Nashville Junction

The Nashville Junction

Year Completed: Ongoing

Location: Nashville, NC

Project Value: $1M – $1.5M

Nashville Junction, originally built in 1906 as American Tobacco Co-Op Building in an effort to battle against the turn-of-the-century big tobacco suppliers – housing local farmers competing with larger institutions. When Hurt & Sons acquired the property, it was not designated as historic and was very close to being torn down. Now, the building itself is a beautiful example of repurposed industrial architecture, featuring old brick and industrial details. Our team had the vision to preserve and transform the once dilapidated building into a unique and stylish space featuring a mix of open areas (eventual wedding/event/farmer’s market venue), private offices, retail and Nash County’s first legal distillery. Adaptive reuse projects like this are often a way of “meeting halfway” for continual downtown development and historic preservation. This project will add potentially 40-50 additional jobs to downtown Nashville and bring local professionals (attorneys, hairstylists, bartenders, cosmetologists, etc.) who will, in turn, eat and shop at local businesses—helping to energize the local economy. This area was previously a distressed part of town, but was recently annexed in, expanding the downtown district and is planned to be the new anchor for downtown Nashville.
